What we collect
When you install the Fitmentware app, we collect and store:
- Your store's domain and app configuration — plan, settings, brand selections, and onboarding state.
- Product catalog data from your store, through the permissions you grant at install: product and variant identifiers, titles, vendors, SKUs, tags, handles, and — if you configure metafield matching — the specific metafield you designate. We use this solely to match your products to vehicle-fitment data and to operate the features you enable.
- Operational records of what the app wrote to your store (so removal and restore features work) and authentication sessions for the embedded app.
What we do not collect
- No customer personal data. We never request or store your customers' names, emails, addresses, orders, or payment information. Our Shopify permissions are limited to products.
- No files from you. You never send us data files; all access is through Shopify's APIs with your consent.
How we use it
To match products to fitment data, write the features you enable (metafields, tags, titles, exports, storefront blocks), show you match results, and operate plan limits. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your catalog data to provide services to anyone else.
Website analytics
fitmentware.com uses Google Analytics to understand site traffic; Google sets its standard cookies for that purpose. The Fitmentware app itself contains no analytics or tracking.
Storage and processors
Data is stored with our infrastructure providers (Supabase for data storage and our application hosting provider). Access is restricted to service credentials; storefront visitors and other merchants cannot read your store's records.
Retention and deletion
We retain your data while the app is installed. On uninstall, API access is revoked immediately and authentication sessions are deleted. When Shopify delivers a shop-redact request (approximately 48 hours after uninstall, when the store requests erasure), we permanently delete all records for the store. Customer data requests and customer redaction requests receive confirmation that no customer personal data is held.
Fitment data on your storefront
Fitment content the app writes into your store (metafields, tags, titles) is part of your storefront and visible to your visitors as you configure it; it remains licensed Database content under the Terms of Service.
Changes and contact
Material changes will be notified through the app or by email. Questions and privacy requests: hello@fitmentware.com.
